Key takeaways
  • A third of US dentists say they are not busy enough, and that share is rising while national spending on dental care goes up.
  • `marketing for dentists` runs about 3,340 searches a month at a keyword difficulty of zero. The demand is unclaimed.
  • Patients decide who to trust weeks before they book, so being findable at the moment of need is late.
  • The videos that work are the chairside questions, not the practice tour.

By the time somebody accepts they need a dentist, they are not comparing practices with an open mind. They go to a name they recognise. Recognition is built weeks earlier, on a screen, which is why a practice can rank, advertise, and still lose to the dentist whose face the patient has been seeing.

Why do patients choose a practice before they call?

Because choosing a dentist is a trust decision made under mild dread, and people resolve dread by going to something familiar. The decision happens quietly, over weeks, and the booking is just the moment it becomes visible to you.

That is why being findable is not the same as being chosen. Search captures the person who has already decided to act. It does very little for the much larger group who have not decided anything yet, and that group is where next quarter's schedule comes from.

Is the market actually getting harder?

Yes, and the numbers say so plainly. The ADA's Health Policy Institute puts the share of dentists saying they are not busy enough at 32% in the first quarter of 2026, up from 26% two years earlier.

Read those together and the picture is specific. Spending is up, more than half of adults did not visit a dentist last year, and a growing share of practices have room. The constraint is not money in the market. It is which practice comes to mind.

What does dental marketing cost, and what does it buy?

RouteTypical monthly costWhat it buys
Google AdsAbout $58 a click on dental marketing, plus managementClicks that stop when you stop

The click price is from Google Ads data read on 14 September 2026. Agency and freelancer retainers vary too widely to quote as one dental figure, and the ranges by route are in what social media management costs.

Worth knowing before you buy either: checked in August 2026, marketing for dentists runs about 3,340 searches a month across the US, UK, Canada and Australia at a keyword difficulty of zero, and dentist seo about 2,650 at difficulty five. Those are unusually soft numbers for a market this valuable, which means a practice that publishes useful pages can still rank without an arms race.

What should the videos be about?

The chair, not the building. Nobody has ever chosen a dentist because of a photograph of the waiting room.

  • Does this hurt, and what do you do about it if it does
  • How long will this last before it needs doing again
  • Why does this cost what it costs
  • Can I wait six months, and what happens if I do
  • What actually happens at a first appointment

Those are the questions patients are already carrying. Answering them in public is the closest thing to having met you. We pulled the search volume behind those questions, and turned it into a posting plan, in social media marketing for dentists.

How does a practice owner keep this up?

Almost every practice has started posting at some point, and almost every practice has stopped, usually around week three. That is not a discipline problem. Being on camera every week around a full book was never a realistic thing to ask of yourself.

You record with us once, for about an hour. We build a model of your face and voice from that session, and every video after it is produced from the recording. You approve the month's scripts, which takes a few minutes, and nothing is published without your written sign-off.

The detail for this practice type is on marketing for dentists, the prices are on the pricing page, and the process is on how it works.
